A Message from the New Chamber President & CEO

Cynthia PollardThe Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce has been an institution in Bakersfield for many years...and it has been an institution in my life as well. I first became involved in this organization nearly twenty five years ago, and throughout my career it has remained a touchstone that has helped me connect with the business community of Bakersfield.

Today, as I assume the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce, I am humbled by those who have come before me-the Chamber Presidents who were the cornerstones of the business community.

Even before Debra Moreno and Chris Frank, the Chamber's legacy of business leadership dated back nearly a century. The Chamber has been the voice of business in Bakersfield through most of the 20th century, and working with our incredible Board of Directors and the terrific staff, it is my job to ensure this legacy extends into the 21st century.

As a team, we will honor many of the traditions of the past while building an effective and relevant organization for the future. Now is a time of great challenges, but also a time of great opportunities, both for the Chamber and for Bakersfield. With the support of our community, our members and our staff, your Chamber and I are ready to face those challenges.

I look forward to hearing from you and certainly hope that you will join me as we move forward to help build a brighter future for business in Bakersfield.
