Water
The Chamber Advocates for:
• Adequate and reliable supplies of clean water, which are crucial to the California economy.
• Development of a water conveyance system to improve the effectiveness of State Water Project and Central Valley Project diversions, which optimizes the economic performance of our area and the State and reduces any adverse environmental impacts.
• State bond financing of projects that provide long term water supply benefits for the people and economy of the State of California by facilitating local and regional water supply infrastructure projects, water storage projects (including surface water storage), water conservation and recycling projects, and only developing environmental restoration projects that are essential to improving water supply.
The Chamber Opposes:
• Policies or proposals that threaten water supply necessary for the long-term viability and sustainability of local area agriculture.
